Frequently Asked Questions
We do not sell silk. We safeguard it.
What began in 1955 - two brothers, a rented room, a reverence for the loom - has become three
generations of quiet refusal. Refusal to blend. Refusal to shortcut. Refusal to let convenience
corrupt what centuries have perfected.
Others may offer Banarasi. We offer Banaras itself.
It depends on the piece. Some take weeks. Others, months.
A simple weave moves faster through the loom. But the more intricate the zari, the more
complex the motif, the longer the karigar must sit - thread by thread, row by row - coaxing the
saree into being. One error in a detailed pattern, and he begins again.
Whether weeks or months, nothing here is rushed. The time a piece takes is the time it needs.
We work with both. And we will always tell you which.
If it is handloom, we say handloom. If it is powerloom, we say powerloom. There is no shame in
either - only in deception.
This is the integrity our founders built this house upon. We have not moved from it.
Yes. Bring us your vision, and our artisans will weave it into being.
But know this: once fabric is cut for you, once a piece is created to your measure and your
dream - it becomes yours entirely. Body and soul. Such pieces cannot return to us, because
they were never meant for anyone else.
Because what you hold is not a product. It is months of a weaver's life. Generations of inherited
knowledge. Yards of tradition that refused to die.
We would rather walk with you toward the right piece - through exchange, through credit,
through conversation - than simply part ways. Every purchase you make keeps a family fed, a
craft breathing, a legacy alive.
We do not take that lightly. Neither should goodbye be.
As you would care for an heirloom. Because that is what it is.
Dry clean only. Store wrapped in soft cotton, away from moisture and harsh light. Never let
perfume touch the fabric directly - silk holds memory, and not all memories serve it well.
What took months to create deserves generations of care.
From the heart of Banaras to wherever you are in the world - yes.
Ready pieces ship within 24 hours. Made-to-order pieces take 3-5 days, then ship. Across India,
shipping is free. We have waited months to create what you are receiving. You should not have
to wait long to hold it.
Silk holds light in ways no screen can capture. It shifts with the hour, with the room, with the
angle of your gaze.
If you wish to know the exact shade before it arrives, reach out to us. We would rather you be
certain than surprised. Disappointment has no place in this exchange.
Because honesty is woven into everything we do.
We've been asked why we don't just blend fabrics or call powerloom "handloom" when no one
would know the difference. The answer is simple: because we would know.
For three generations, our family has built this house on one foundation - truth. If it's handloom,
we say handloom. If it's powerloom, we say powerloom. What you see is what you're getting,
always.
That's our promise. That's been our promise since 1955
Supporting the weavers isn't something separate from our work - it is our work.
Fair wages that honor skill, not just survival. Techniques preserved that are disappearing. Young
hands trained so that decades from now, a weaver's grandchild can still sit at a loom in Banaras
and create what no machine ever could.
This isn't charity. This is how we've always done business. Because when the weavers thrive,
the craft survives.
When you choose Banarasiya, you choose to keep this world turning.
Come to us. We are listening.
With patience, with warmth, with all the time your asking requires - we receive your questions
the way this craft deserves: with care.
Banarasi sarees that have been our legacy for three generations. Unstitched suit pieces. Pure
fabrics by the meter. Dupattas woven with care. Everything handpicked, nothing hurried.
Our store has stood in Ravindarpuri, Banaras since the beginning. But if you can't visit us, we'll

Walk into our Banaras store and let us show you the pieces in person - there's something about
touching silk that a screen can never capture.
